Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the facelifted 2023 GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe. It’s fully imported, starting from RM873,888 on the road without insurance. Aside from the GLE 53, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also launched the all-new GLC300 Coupe.
The GLE 53 Coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre straight-six engine with 435 hp and 560 Nm of torque. Torque figures have increased by 40 Nm as a result of software upgrades and a larger turbocharger.
The engine is also aided by a 48V mild hybrid system featuring an integrated starter generator (ISG) system that gives the engine a boost of up to 23 hp and 200 Nm of torque. The GLE 53 Coupe’s 0-100 km/h time is 5.0 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h.
The GLE 53 Coupe comes with all-wheel drive (AWD), with power channelled to all four corners via an AMG Speedshift 9G automatic gearbox. For better traction and manoeuvrability, it also gets fully variable torque distribution, AMG Ride Control+ air suspension, and active ride stabilisation.
On the outside, the GLE 53 Coupe gets 22-inch wheels, revised head and taillamp design, AMG Night package with black accents on the front bumper, window surrounds, rear spoiler and rear bumper. The headlamps are Multibeam LED units with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus.

Inside, the facelift model comes with carbon fibre finishing on the door and dashboard trims. It also gets an AMG flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather with two knobs to control the transmission and suspension settings.
The infotainment system is powered by the second-generation MBUX system with a more user-friendly interface, voice command, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A Burmester Sound System and wireless mobile phone charger is also offered.
On the safety front, the GLE 53 comes with the Driving Assistance Plus package which includes adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree view camera, Parktronic active parking assist, and autonomous braking. Airbags include rear-side airbags and driver-knee airbags.
