Following the launch of the GLC 300 earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has now unveiled its cooler sibling, the GLC 300 4Matic Coupe, here on our shores. Like the GLC, the new Coupe version will only be offered in a single variant – although only in fully imported (CBU) form for now.
The locally assembled (CKD) GLC Coupe will only arrive some time next year, citing the “normal lead time” for the localisation process. For now, the new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupe is priced at RM469,888 on-the-road, without insurance.
In terms of design, the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is really more of an evolution, than a complete makeover – and that includes its dimensions. While the standard GLC saw quite a significant change in proportions, the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe still retains most of its signature silhouette from before, only gaining 31 mm in overall length, and 5 mm in height.
That said, the rear track does see a significant 23 mm increase (while still maintaining overall width), which should give the GLC Coupe a more imposing stance on the road, on top of better driving dynamics. Wind bending capabilities have been improved here, too, with the raked roofline coupled with a more aggressive rear ducktail spoiler, giving the GLC Coupe a more aerodynamic shape measuring 0.27 Cd.
As expected, the Coupe – in the single 300 4Matic guise here – inherits many of the design changes first seen on the standard GLC, including the sleeker Digital Light Matrix LED headlight and the wider grille, although with a unique set of slim-line LED tail lights highlighting the sleek rear three-quarter of the coupe-SUV.
Other standard equipment on the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupe here in Malaysia include the AMG Line exterior body kit, 20-inch staggered alloy wheels housed within the body-coloured wheel arch flarings, and the aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs.

Powering the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic Coupe is the same 2.0-litre inline-four mill, augmented with a 48V mild hybrid system to give an extra 23 hp and 200 Nm boost when needed. As the 4Matic badge on the fender suggests, power here is also sent to all four wheels via a full-time all-wheel drive set-up.

The cabin of the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is basically a carbon copy of the GLC and C-Class, with the same dashboard design featuring a free-standing 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, as well as a tablet-style 11.9-inch portrait-oriented infotainment display connected to the centre console.
Specifications here on the GLC 300 4Matic Coupe also mirrors that of the standard GLC, and includes:

- Powered front seats with memory function

The slightly longer dimensions have resulted in a larger boot space at the back of the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic Coupe, boasting 45 litres of extra storage space compared to its predecessors at 545 litres.
Safety wise, the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupe 4Matic comes as standard with:
- Blind spot monitor
- Active lane keeping assist
- Active brake assist
- Active Parking Assist with Parktronic
- 360-degree surround-view monitor
- Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus
Like the standard GLC, though, the all-new coupe variant here in Malaysia still lacks an adaptive cruise control system.
Again, the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Coupe 4Matic is priced at RM469,888 on-the-road and without insurance, inclusive of a standard five-year unlimited-mileage warranty.
