MINI Clubman Final Edition bids farewell to the barn doors – 20 units in Malaysia only, RM319k

MINI Malaysia has officially unveiled the Clubman Final Edition for our shores, priced at RM318,888 on-the-road and without insurance. As the name suggests, the new variant will serve as the swansong edition to the barn doors MINI; the unique model will not be returning for another generation.

Only 1,969 units of the Final Edition will be built globally, and Malaysia has received an allocation of just 20 units. As a special edition model priced some RM6,000 more than the Clubman Cooper S, the MINI Clubman Final Edition gains a couple of special design touches all around to celebrate the very first Clubman built in 1969.

Most of these come in the form of Shimmer Copper accents on the outside, including front bumper and front grille embellishments, decorative strips on the bonnet and sides, as well as the unique two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Shimmer Copper touches are contrasted by Piano Black accents on the headlamps, door handles, emblems, and exhaust tips. Wrapping up the exterior adornments are the Final Edition badges on the side scuttles, finished in Shimmer Copper of course, as well as a “1 of 1969”
badge on its C-pillar to denote its limited-production run.

Inside, the MINI Clubman Final Edition is also suitably fitted with special eye-catching details, including a Final Edition emblem on the steering wheel’s bottom spoke, edition-specific door sill plates, ‘1 of 1,969’ logos on the dashboard and velour floor mats, and of course, a Shimmer Copper finish to the dashboard trims.

The seats are wrapped in Dark Maroon leather, offset by a ‘sport-inspired pique fabric’ to give it a truly unique look on the inside. For some added flair, MINI has also given the Clubman Final Edition unique lasered rivets on the seats, which are available in either Shimmer Copper or Enigmatic Black.

Underneath the bonnet, you’ll find a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four engine that makes 192 hp and 280 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which translates to a century sprint time of 7.2 seconds, onward to a top speed of 226 km/h.

The MINI Clubman Final Edition is based on the Cooper S variant, as such they share a very similar equipment list, with items including a dual-zone climate control, Harman Kardon sound system, a reversing camera, Parking Assist, as well as the Driving Assistant package that consist of the adaptive cruise control system, automatic high-beam, speed limit info, pedestrian warning, as well as light city braking feature.

The Final Edition model does however get an upgraded 8.8-inch touchscreen for its infotainment display, replacing the Cooper S’ 6.5-inch unit. The screen, powered by the MINI Navigation System OS, supports Apple CarPlay connectivity, and will be paired to a new digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel.

The MINI Clubman Final Edition will be available in three colours, namely Nanuq White, Melting Silver III, and Enigmatic Black. Included in the RM318,888 price is also a four-year unlimited mileage warranty and free scheduled service programme, alongside five years of roadside assistance.

For those who’d prefer a shorter warranty period, though, the MINI Clubman Final Edition is also available for RM308,488, with only a standard two-year warranty.
