The 2023 Range Rover Sport (L461) has been launched in Malaysia with prices starting at RM1,698,000 after duties. Earlier this year, Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia launched the Range Rover L460 and the Velar facelift.

As a luxury sport SUV, the Range Rover Sport comes with a sporty-looking exterior to match. On the outside, it is fitted with sporty hoods and fenders, a large rear wing, and a set of 22-inch Satin Dark Grey Wheels. Other exterior equipment highlights include the flush door handles, digital LED headlights, a laser-welded roof, and LED taillights with animated indicators. Compared to its predecessor, the Range Rover Sport has a 35% higher torsional stiffness thanks to its flexible mixed-metal Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA-Flex) platform. It is also equipped with the brand’s Dynamic Air Suspension System.

Powering the Range Rover Sport is a 48V mild hybrid (MHEV) system that consists of a 3.0-litre turbocharged engine and an electric drive system. The MHEV powertrain outputs 400 hp and 550 Nm and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission by ZF. The century sprint is done in just 5.7 seconds.

Interior equipment highlights of the Range Rover Sport include items like a 13.1-inch head unit (with a Pivi Pro infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), a 13.7-inch interactive driver display, a head-up display, and a Qi wireless mobile phone charger. The Range Rover Sport also features 4-zone climate control, rear window blinds, and an air purification system.

As for safety, the Range Rover Sport is equipped with adaptive cruise control (ACC) with steering assist, lane keep assist (LKA), Traffic sign recognition (TSR), emergency braking, Wade sensing, adaptive speed limiter, driver condition response, occupant protection assist, park assist, 3D surround camera, ClearSight Ground View, ClearSight Interior Rear View Mirror, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
