Perodua Myvi 1.5 X & H get Cranberry Red colour option, Lava Red dropped

The Perodua Myvi’s colour library has just been given an update. Both the hatchback’s 1.5 X and H variants now get the Cranberry red colour option, which was previously exclusive for the AV variant. The Lava Red option has now been discontinued.

Even the 1.3 G variant will no longer be coming with the Lava Red option. Therefore if you want a brand new Myvi wearing a red coat, you will have to top up for the higher spec 1.5-litre variants.

Just in case you’re confused, the Cranberry Red and Lava Red colours can’t be more different from each other, despite both being from the same colour family. Cranberry Red features a darker tone and has more depth to it, as compared to the flatter-looking Lava Red.

The 2021 Perodua Myvi facelift is offered in four variants, with the top three variants (X, H, and AV) being powered by the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder Dual VVT-i petrol engine, paired with a D-CVT gearbox. The entry-level G variant is the only one to feature the 1.3-litre Dual VVT-i engine, paired with the same D-CVT gearbox. Prices for the hatchback start from RM46,500 and top out at RM59,900 (on-the-road, without insurance).

Aside from its updated looks, the 2021 Perodua Myvi facelift’s biggest enhancement over its predecessor is its safety features. The Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 3.0 ADAS system is available across the range, and can also be optionally added to the base 1.3 G variant. The safety suite consists of features such as pre-collision warning (PCW) with pedestrian and cyclist detection, pre-collision braking (PCB), and lane departure warning (LDW).

Additionally, the range-topping AV variant also gets level 2 autonomous driving features. This includes adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane keep control (LKC), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), along with blind spot monitoring system.
