2023 Toyota Corolla with GR Sport variant launched in Malaysia, from RM140k



UMW Toyota Motor has launched the updated 2023 Toyota Corolla in Malaysia, now with a new “GR Sport” variant. Prices start at RM139,800 for the base 1.8 E variant and top off at RM152,800 for the GR Sport version.

While it may not be obvious, the Toyota Corolla has been updated for Malaysia, sporting a slightly refreshed look. With its visual changes so subtle, here is a list of the equipment updates for the 2023 Toyota Corolla for all variants:

  1. Refreshed exterior appearance
  2. New “Metal Stream Metallic” exterior colour option
  3. New 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheel designs
  4. USB power port upgraded to Type C
  5. Smart Entry (touch door handle) is now also on the passenger side
  6. Wider 12.3-inch fully digital display (G and GR Sport)
  7. New clip added to wireless charging pad to secure smartphone
  8. Improved seat design
  9. Reduced intake noise

Standard exterior equipment on the updated 2023 Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 E include:

  • 16-inch wheels
  • LED DRLs
  • Halogen Headlamps

The 1.8 G variant adds:

  • 17-inch wheels
  • LED headlamps

While the range-topping GR Sport variant adds:

  • 18-inch wheels
  • GR Sport front and rear bumpers
  • GR Sport-tuned suspension
  • GR emblem
  • Black side mirrors

As for performance, everything remains the same as its pre-updated version as the 2023 Toyota Corolla is still powered by the same naturally-aspirated 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine. Like before, the engine is still paired with a CVT that simulates 7 virtual gears.

In the safety department, the Toyota Corolla Altis in its range-topping form is equipped with the full suite of Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) advanced safety features. Standard safety features for the 1.8 E variant include:

  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
  • Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TC)
  • Hill-start Assist Control (HAC)
  • Tyre Pressure Warning System

The 1.8 G and GR Sport variants add:
