Honda WR-V: 2,200 units delivered in one month, second best-selling model from Honda Malaysia

Honda Malaysia has delivered 2,200 units of the all-new WR-V within one month of its official launch in July 2023, the company said in a statement today. The first of which, a red-coloured WR-V RS, was delivered to Nurain Binti Mohamad in a special handover ceremony earlier this month, alongside a token of appreciation worth RM5,000 from Honda Malaysia.

With the strong momentum in sales, the all-new WR-V has now become the second best-selling model in Honda Malaysia’s model line-up for July 2023.

Commenting on the compact crossover’s strong sales performance, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hironobu Yoshimura, said: “Since its launch, the model has been well accepted in the market and achieved remarkable sales performance. The RS variant is the largest contributor, accounting for 60% of the total sales to-date.”

As the first Honda WR-V owner in Malaysia, Nurain was presented with a goodie bag consisting of Honda accessories and Ultra Glass Body Coating for her vehicle, alongside official Honda merchandise, for a total value worth RM5,000.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Nurain said, “When Honda Malaysia announced that they were launching the All-New WR-V, I did some research on the car and was immediately impressed by its design and features… I like that the All-New WR-V has a compact design on the outside but still has ample room on the inside. Thus, I believe I can enjoy a pleasant on-the-road experience with utmost comfort when driving this car on my daily commute.”

The Honda WR-V was launched here in Malaysia last month, offering four different variants with pricing ranging from RM89,900 to RM109,900. All four variants are powered by the same 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated inline-four engine and CVT combo, sending 121 hp and 145 Nm to the front wheels.

The all-new Honda WR-V comes equipped with many comfort creature niceties, including the Honda Sensing advanced driver assistance suite that comes as standard across the range, save for the sole entry-level S variant.

Aside from a more attractive exterior design, Nurain’s Honda WR-V RS is also fitted with the Honda Connect telematics system, which allows customers to connect to their cars from anywhere at any time via their smartphones, giving them access to several useful features such as remote start-stop, geo-fencing alerts, as well as Find My Car, all through a smartphone app.
