Sime Darby Beyond Auto and Scientex sign MoU for EV-friendly housing developments

BYD’s sole distributor in Malaysia – Sime Darby Beyond Auto has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Scientex Berhad, a leading property developer in Malaysia to become preferred marketing campaign partners for Scientex’s highly anticipated Mori Residences 2 condominium project in Rawang, Selangor. This collaboration is aimed to promote the widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across various housing developments.

Additionally, the collaboration also embodies Scientex’s commitment to promoting sustainability and mobility, as it adopts the GreenRE criteria, featuring environmentally responsible design and EV charging stations conveniently accessible to the residents. The joint efforts between the two companies will involve promoting widespread electric vehicle (EV) adoption and incorporating EV charging facilities into affordable housing developments.

This also includes the establishment of EV charging stations at selected locations within Scientex’s nationwide housing developments. To further inspire the public, they will run awareness campaigns and offer attractive incentives as well, making EVs and eco-friendly homes accessible to all.

Sime Darby Motors Retail and Distribution Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Macau Managing Director, Jeffrey Gan said, “This collaboration with Scientex is a testament to our shared commitment to environmental stewardship. We are excited to leverage our leading EV technology to contribute to Scientex’s vision of sustainable growth and a greener future.”
