The 2023 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro has just made its launch on July 6, 2023, alongside its younger sibling – the Chery Omoda 5. Available in a sole variant, the Tiggo 8 Pro is retailed at RM159,800 (OTR, without insurance).
The Malaysian-spec Chery Tiggo 8 Pro is based on the Tiggo 8 Pro Max in China and is just slightly smaller in dimensions compared to its closest rival – the Proton X90. On the outside, the 2023 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro is fitted with a “galaxy”-inspired front grille that also has prism-inspired inserts on the mesh.
Round the back, Chery has also given the Tiggo 8 Pro tail lights that extend horizontally across the width of the car, together with a T-shaped third brake light that is integrated into the roof-mounted spoiler. Other exterior features that the Tiggo 8 Pro gets include a set of 19-inch alloys, quad tailpipes, as well as roof rails.
There is also an easter egg trick under the Tiggo 8 Pro’s sleeve. The Chery logo at the front will illuminate together with the headlights and tail lights to form the welcome light upon unlocking the car.

At the heart of the 2023 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). This results in a total of 256 hp and 390 Nm, and power is sent to the front wheels only.
Hop inside the Tiggo 8 Pro, and you will find a premium-looking interior, as well as a total of seven leather-wrapped seats. Standard equipment available here includes a 24.6-inch floating dual-screen setup that consists of an instrument display cluster and an infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, driver seat with memory function, as well as front seats with heating and ventilation functions.
There is also a touch-sensitive climate control, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, an eight-speaker Sony sound system, multi-colour ambient lighting, a mobile phone wireless charger, dual-zone automatic climate control with independent third-row air conditioning, as well as an electric panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade.
In terms of safety, the 2023 Chery Tiggo is equipped with a full ADAS suite, which includes safety features such as adaptive cruise control (ACC) with integrated cruise assist (ICA), front collision warning (FCW), autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning and keeping (LDP & LDK), as well as rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA). A tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), blind spot detection, door opening warning, as well as a 540-degree (360+180°) are also included with the Tiggo 8 Pro.
Included with the 2023 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro’s RM159,800 price is a 7-year/150,000 km standard manufacturer’s warranty and five years of free service. The first 3,000 customers also get a special 10-year/1,000,000 km warranty for the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro’s powertrain components.
