BMW Malaysia has just announced the price of the all-electric BMW i7, not long after introducing the all-new BMW 7 Series in Malaysia. Available in the i7 xDrive60 M Sport variant only, the all-electric i7 costs RM 729,800.
Essentially an electric version of the all-new BMW 7 Series, the i7 is quite hard to tell apart from the ‘regular’ 7 Series with the exception of the location of the charging port and the lack of a fuel filler cap. Since the i7 for Malaysia is offered with the M Sport kit as standard, it looks very similar to the BMW 750e xDrive M Sport which was recently introduced in Malaysia.
Currently in the 7 Series lineup for Malaysia is the BMW 750e xDrive Pure Excellence, 750e xDrive M Sport, and now the all-electric i7 xDrive 60 M Sport.
Powering the BMW i7 xDrive60 M Sport is a dual-motor setup that produces 544 hp (400 kW) and 745 Nm. This system propels the i7 from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds onward to a limited top speed of 240 km/h.
As for battery and range, the i7 xDrive 60 packs a 101.7-kWh battery pack and this provides 625 km of range (WLTP). As for charging, it can be done at a maximum rate of 11 kW with AC charging and 195 kW with DC charging. The former fully charges the car in 9.5 hours while the latter charges the car from 10% to 80% in approximately 34 minutes.
Inside, the i7 features a non-symmetrical tabletop design for the dashboard, with a scalloped wooden section (carbon fibre-look trims on M-badged models) that houses the new floating iDrive 8 curved display panels. It also has an Interaction Bar, which is a touch-sensitive transparent surface that spans across the entire front half of the cabin from door to door, hiding many of the control surfaces for the climate control system, lights, and even a “button” on the passenger side to open the powered door.
Included in the price of the BMW i7 xDrive60 M Sport is a 5-year/unlimited mileage warranty with free scheduled service programme, BMW roadside assistance and accident hotline, the BMW Group Loyalty+ Mobile App, BMW Privileges Card, and BMW services online.
