Video: 2023 Audi e-tron GT launched in Malaysia, from RM601k

Audi Malaysia has unveiled its e-tron EV line-up here in Malaysia, headlined by the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT. Pricing for the electric four-door grand tourer here in Malaysia starts at RM600,790 for the base e-tron GT variant, jumping up to RM808,790 for the high performance Renn Sport edition.

The former is also available with a Dynamic Package option, with several additional aesthetic and performance upgrades to bring the price up to RM679,790.

The Audi e-tron GT is based on the same J1 platform that underpins the Porsche Taycan, and as such they both share a very similar overall profile, especially its four-door coupe silhouette. With that being said, there’s still a distinct “Audiness” to the e-tron GT, highlighted by the reimagined Singleframe grille, and the usual Audi extravagant lighting elements on the outside.

On the latter, the matrix LED headlights on the e-tron GT are upgraded to laser high beam units on the e-tron GT with Dynamic Package and RS e-tron GT that extends the length of light throw up by up to two times.

The interior design of the e-tron GT is also unique to Audi, utilising a more angular dashboard design rather than the clean and minimalist styling of the Porsche. A 10.1-inch infotainment display sits atop the dashboard, paired to a 12.3-inch instrument cluster behind the steering wheel.

For performance, both variants of the Audi e-tron GT are powered by a twin-motor, all-wheel drive set-up, but their outputs differ by quite a significant margin. The standard e-tron GT makes 476 hp and 630 Nm, rising up to 530 hp and 640 Nm for 2.5 seconds during launch control. The range-topping RS e-tron GT meanwhile gets 598 hp and 830 Nm, increasing up to 646 hp momentarily in boost mode.

Electric juice is supplied by an 85 kWh battery pack, translating to an electric range of 487 km. Thanks to its 800V electric architecture, DC charging is supported at up to 270 kW, which will take the car from 5-80% in just 22.5 minutes.
