Video: 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class facelift, from RM239k – 5 Things



Malaysia has just welcomed the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class facelift which introduces an almost entirely electrified lineup. With prices only confirmed for the A 200 and the AMG A 45 S facelift for now, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class is all yours from a starting price of RM238,888 for the A 200.

It is hard to tell at first glance, but yes, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class has been given an exterior design refresh. The headlights are now new with a new LED DRL, the grille is now larger, and the bumpers have been redesigned. Admittedly though, these changes are subtle and quite hard to miss if you’re unfamiliar with its predecessor. To get a better look at the differences, we suggest you watch our video.

In the non-AMG lineup of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class facelift is the A 200 and the A 250 4MATIC. Yes, it’s pretty much like before except for 4MATIC being added to the A 250 in the new facelift. The A 200 is s powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine that gets assistance from a 48V mild hybrid system. Maximum power for the A 200 is rated at 163 hp while maximum torque is rated at 270 Nm. 0-100 km/h is done in 8.3 seconds onward to a top speed of 230 km/h.

The A 250 4MATIC, now with all-wheel drive (as its name suggests) gets power from a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, also getting assistance from a 48V mild hybrid system. Maximum power is rated at 224 hp while maximum torque is rated at 350 Nm. 0-100 km/h is done in 6.4 seconds onward to a top speed of 250 km/h.

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class facelift also introduces updated versions of the AMG A 35 4MATIC and A 45 S 4MATIC+. The A 35 4MATIC makes 306 hp and 400 Nm from a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. Mated with the turbocharged engine is an 8-speed AMG Speedshift transmission. 0-100 km/h is done in 4.8 seconds onward to a top speed of 250 km/h.

Most of powerful in the A-Class lineup is the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+. It is the only one not provided with hybrid assistance but makes a whopping 421 hp and 500 Nm from a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. 0-100 km/h is done in 3.9 seconds onward to a top speed of 270 km/h.

Inside, the biggest changes to the 2023 Mercedes-Benz A-Class facelift would be the use of the latest MBUX version, the new steering wheel design, and the removal of the touchpad on the centre console. More information is provided in our short video.
