Since the launch of the newly improved Shell FuelSave95 fuel in February this year, Shell has been promoting the benefits of its new fuel, which includes providing deeper cleaning and improved protection for the engine, as well as extending your range by up to 15 km per tank. To further prove the effectiveness of the new fuel, Shell recently held its 2023 FuelSave 95 Challenge across the country, with the grand finale having taken place just yesterday, on June 18, 2023.
Five winners from five different zones across the country, which include the Northern, Eastern, Southern, Central, and Borneo zones participated in the grand finale of the fuel economy challenge. Chin Li Qin (26) from Johor appeared as the winner of the challenge, clocking 28.23 km/l during the grand finale challenge, which is an even higher achievement than his previous record of 25.45 km/l, driving home with the RM20,000 grand prize.
Chin said after the prize-giving ceremony, “I’m genuinely excited to win the Grand Finale of Shell FuelSave 95 Challenge 2023, and I was surprised when my name was announced as the champion. It was impressive to see all participants achieving mileage beyond the average benchmark. Some roads were quite challenging, but I tried to keep myself calm and drive like I normally do back in my hometown.”
The Grand Finale challenge took place at Shell SM Alisha, Shah Alam, with the participants driving through Cyberjaya – Bukit Jalil – Cheras – Ampang – Gombak – Sri Hartamas – Kota Damansara – Puncak Alam and returning to the starting point. The participants were provided with a fleet of Honda City cars for the challenge, and drove across various types of roads totalling up to 121 km of distance.
Shell Mobility General Manager, Seow Lee Ming said, “Now, not only are we able to quantify the fuel economy gained by the customers from a full tank of Shell FuelSave 95, but we are also able to witness the unbelievable mileage experienced by our customers, which further proves our New + Improved Shell FuelSave95 to be truly better by far.”
