Proton DX Centre officially launched – Malaysia’s first automotive digital experience centre

Proton has just officially launched the Proton DX (Digital Experience) Centre, located at Quill City Mall. Developed by Aco Tech, in collaboration with Proton and China Construction Bank (CCB), The Proton DX Centre is the first automotive digital experience centre in Malaysia.

The Proton DX Centre is specifically located on Ground Floor, Quill City Mall, 1018, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. The centre is also open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

The local carmaker says that the Proton DX Centre houses a blend of interactive technology, leisure, and lifestyle elements, to create a unique experiential centre. The Proton DX centre, which spans 5,275 sq ft, essentially comprises six zones, which include the Virtual Cockpit, Activity Zone, Lifestyle Zone, Atlas Mall showcase, Aico Cafe, and Delivery Bay.

The Virtual Cockpit is essentially the main highlight of the Proton DX Centre. Visitors can enjoy a virtual drive in an enclosed theatre-like dome to experience Proton’s showcase of smart mobility. Besides showcasing the latest automotive technologies in the market, the Virtual Cockpit also serves as a platform for conceptual experiences that incorporate future mobility innovations.

The Activity Zone is an interactive space where visitors of the proton DX centre can enjoy motion-sensing games individually, or with their family and friends. Proton says that the Activity Zone will also be used as a space for collaborative events.

The Lifestyle Zone consists of exclusive merchandise and souvenirs that visitors can purchase. This zone also showcases unique activewear and lifestyle merchandise from an ongoing collaboration between Proton DX and Joma. This represents the lifestyle component of a greater mobility ecosystem from the local carmaker, which the carmaker says will be available in the centre in the future.

Seeing the growing preference for online purchases among Malaysians, Aco Tech has enabled customers to purchase neglected products from the Atlas Auto mobile application. And for customers who would like to have a hands-on experience with the products prior to placing their orders, the Atlas Mall showcase is also present in the Proton DX centre.

In addition to products on sale in the Atlas Auto app, official merchandise from other brands in the Geely Group, such as Lynk & Co and Zeekr are also on display here. Last but not least is the delivery bay. Customers can specially request their new Proton cars to be delivered at the centre itself.

The local carmaker says that the Proton DX is a centre for car and technology enthusiasts of all ages to gather and be immersed in the latest innovations in the automotive. The Proton DX Centre also aspires to serve as an engaging platform for Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) education, and spark interest in the field among the younger generation.

ACO Tech Chief Executive Officer Mr Li Pu said, “Smart mobility in the automotive industry is evolving at an accelerated pace. We are passionate about providing solutions that enhance the driving experience, to make every drive a good one for Malaysians. Proton DX is one of the platforms that showcases our expertise.”

He added, “This centre offers an immersive space for everyone to learn about the innovative technologies that go into an automobile and at the same time, provide an experience that goes beyond being on the road. In our efforts to lead the smart mobility industry, we hope to make Proton DX a platform for STEM education. This is part of our commitment to raise the level of technological awareness and knowledge of the nation.”
