2023 Suzuki Jimny Rhino Edition launched in Malaysia – 30 units only, RM175k

Naza Eastern Motors has unveiled a new limited-edition model for the beloved Suzuki Jimny, called the Rhino Edition. Essentially just a visual package, the new Suzuki Jimny Rhino Edition will be limited to just 30 units only, priced at RM174,900 – although existing Jimny customers can purchase the kit for RM15k.

The Suzuki Jimny Rhino Edition is available exclusively in a Pure Pearl White paint job, paired to a generous dose of red, grey, and black decals all around the exterior – the ones on the side even feature large ‘Real Offroader’ wording to remind everyone that it’s still a capable 4X4 despite its compact size.

Jimny diehards may already recognise the Rhino emblem all around the outside that gave the special edition model its name, but for those who don’t, the branding traces its roots all the way back to the second-generation SJ Jimny some 40 years ago, which was used in certain markets as a symbol for “rugged strength, robust appearance, solidity, and dynamic power”.

The Rhino logo has since become essentially synonymous with the Jimny.

Other exterior modifications on the Jimny Rhino Edition include the Suzuki Heritage grille, chrome wing mirrors, red mud flaps with white “Jimny” lettering, bumper under garnishes, additional front and rear differential guards, as well as wind deflectors above the windows.

Aside from these, though, the rest of the car is essentially identical to the Suzuki Jimny that was launched here in Malaysia nearly two years ago. Underneath the bonnet is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated inline-four engine that makes 102 hp and 130 Nm, with power sent to all four wheels via a four-speed automatic gearbox and a part-time four-wheel drive system.
