PHS Automotive partners with Moon Power – 22kW AC, 180kW DC chargers installed at Audi Centres

At the launch of the e-tron range in Malaysia today, PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM), the official distributor of Audi in Malaysia announced that it has partnered with Moon Power, a European energy solutions provider. The partnership serves to further support charging solutions for e-tron owners in Malaysia, and Moon Power chargers have been installed at Audi centres in Glenmarie, Setia Alam, and Juru.

To prepare for the launch, all three Audi Centres in Glenmarie, Setia Alam, and Juru have been fitted with Moon Power EV chargers. All three centres are now equipped with three 22-kW AC chargers and one 180-kW DC charger each. As for accessibility, the EV chargers at these centres are only open to Audi e-tron owners.

Moon Power is a subsidiary of Porsche Holdings Salzburg and its entry into Malaysia is its first venture outside of Europe. Audi e-tron customers in Malaysia will be given the added option of purchasing Moon Power wallbox chargers beginning September 2023. The Moon Power wallbox chargers are available in 11 kW and 22 kW configurations.

The Audi e-tron range in Malaysia currently consists of the Q8 e-tron (SUV and Sportback) and the e-tron GT. While the Q8 e-tron can only charge at a maximum rate of 170 kW with DC charging, the e-tron GT can actually charge at a whopping rate of 270 kW thanks to its 800V architecture. For the time being, the Moon Power chargers at the Audi centre can only do 180kW charging. A more powerful charger may soon be available at Audi centres to make full use of the e-tron GT’s 800V architecture.
