The official importer and distributor of Smart vehicles in Malaysia and Thailand, Proton New Energy Technology Sdn Bhd (PRO-NET) has appointed five new dealerships to be in charge of Smart electric vehicles (EV) in Peninsular Malaysia. Stationed across the Peninsular in strategic areas such as Bangsar, Ipoh, Penang, Kedah, and Melaka, the appointed dealerships include Smart Mobility, GB Auto, Eleganz Lifestyle, Lee Motors, and Sigma Energy.

The Smart Mobility dealership will be located in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, and is set to target a diverse spectrum of customers. This includes expatriates and high-profile corporate individuals.

GB Auto will be located up north, in Ipoh, Perak. Eleganz Lifestyle, Lee Motors, and Sigma Energy EV, on the other hand, will be in charge of Smart’s dealerships in Penang, Kedah, and Melaka. The dealerships will also be occupying their standalone buildings.

In total, seven dealers have been appointed by Smart Malaysia, which includes the previously appointed Hap Seng Smart and Edaran Otomobil Nasional (EON). This is done as part of the EV company’s strategy to attract customers ahead of the launch of the Smart #1 in Malaysia, which will be taking place in the fourth quarter of this year.

The dealer appointments come as part of the company’s strategy to introduce its new all-electric auto brand to the local market, which includes the establishment of an all-new Smart brand centre, known as “Smart Space” as a one-stop centre for EV adoption and convenience.
