Neta V receives 100 bookings at Malaysia Autoshow 2023, cheapest EV for now



The cheapest electric vehicle (EV) in Malaysia right now, the Neta V has garnered 100 bookings during the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 alone. Making its Malaysian debut at the Autoshow, the Neta V is priced at RM99,800, but was offered with a RM10,000 cash rebate for those who placed their bookings during the Autoshow.

The Neta V is a fully electric car by Hozon New Energy Automobile, a Chinese EV company backed by Chinese battery giant CATL. In Malaysia, the Neta brand is officially distributed by Intro Synergy Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of GoAuto Group.

As a budget EV, the Neta doesn’t boast high performance figures. It is a powered by a single front-mounted electric motor that makes 70 kW (95 hp) and 150 Nm. No 0-100km/h times are listed, but the Neta does 0 to 50 km/h in 3.9 seconds, onward to a top speed of 120 km/h.

As for battery and range, the Neta V houses a small 38.5-kWh battery pack which provides 380 km of range (NEDC). Charging can be done at a maximum rate of 6.6 kW with AC charging and 100 kW with DC charging. 6.6-kW AC charging fully charges the car in roughly 8 hours while 100-kW DC charging charges the car from 30% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.

To celebrate this exciting moment, NETA presented Muhaya Salleh, who is the 100th customer, with a NETA V Diecast model to symbolize the hundredth booking.
