The 2023 BMW 330i facelift is now in Malaysia, and it comes locally assembled in Kulim, Kedah, from RM317,800. The 330i’s engine remains unchanged from before, with a B48 2.0-litre turbocharged in-line four-cylinder engine. It produces 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque, to drive the rear wheels via an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission. The 330i’s 0-100 km/h time is 5.8 seconds, with top speed capped at 250 km/h.

Behind the 18-inch style 848 M light alloy wheels are 4-pot M Sport brakes in the front. Aesthetically, the new M Sport is no less aggressive than before but offers a cleaner, more mature look. The M Sport kit at the front changes the entire front bumper design. Unlike before, the front bumper came with two square sections – one on each corner of the bumper – to house the fog lamps but has now been replaced with an L-shaped panel.

At the rear are larger tailpipes, with a larger, more prominent rear diffuser. At launch, the 330i came with non-adjustable M Sport suspension but has since been updated with adaptive suspension for an additional RM2,000.

The clean-cut approach to the exterior of the new 2023 330i facelift is similarly adopted inside. The dash now features a BMW Curved Display that consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment display. The latter runs on BMW’s latest iDrive 8.0 operating system, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ‘Hey BMW’ voice assistant and more. A head-up display is standard, as part of the BMW Live Cockpit Professional package.

The new BMW Curved Display also means changes to the dashboard design. The air-con vents are now slimmer than before, while most of the air-con controls are now integrated into the touchscreen – not the most convenient if we’re honest.

More prominent is the traditional gear lever which has been replaced by a toggle switch. M Sport touches in the cabin include M door sills, M footrest, M pedals, sport seats, M leather steering and M displays on the digital instrument cluster. Buyers can opt for either a black or Mocha brown interior.

In terms of safety and driver assistance, the 202 330i facelift comes with the Parking Assistant package and that includes Park Assist, Active Park Distance Control and the Reversing Assistant, among others. Other standard features include lane departure warning with active steering interventions, lane change warning, autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert and rear collision warning.

The 2023 BMW 330i M Sport also comes with the Parking Assistant package here in Malaysia, consisting of Park Assist, Active Park Distance Control, Lateral Parking Aid, a reverse camera, and Reversing Assistant.
