Proton X90 now open for bookings at 3S & 4S outlets only, specs revealed



Perhaps the most anticipated new car to launch in Malaysia this year would be the Proton X90. Those who have been eyeing the large SUV by Proton can now make their bookings for the car, albeit at Proton 3S and 4S centres only.

According to an Instagram post by protoncars, the official Instagram account for Proton, bookings forth Proton X90 were already opened during the recent weekend, more precisely on April 8, 2023. Not shown on Proton’s official website yet, the bookings can only be made at the brand’s 3S and 4S centres only.

Before opening the bookings, Proton has already previewed the Proton X90 to the members of the media, and it is already known that the X90 will be available in four variants. All variants are powered by a mil-hybrid system which consists of a 1.5-litre TGDI engine (190 hp/300 Nm) and an electric drive system. All variants get a 7-seater configuration except for the Flagship which comes with a 6-seater configuration.

The four Proton X90 variants available for bookings are Standard, Executive, Premium, and Flagship. Over the recent weekend, specifications of the four variants of the X90 also surfaced on the internet. As standard, the X90 comes with full LED headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats, a 12.3-inch head unit, and a reverse camera.

The Executive variant adds on a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a power tailgate, leatherette seats, a power-adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, and a 360° camera with 3D display.

Up a tier, the Premium variant adds on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), 19-inch wheels, nappa leather seats, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, a wireless charger, and auto park assist. The Flagship variant adds a panoramic sunroof, a front passenger ‘boss’ switch, and second-row captain seats.

The Proton X90 is currently on a preview session across six cities in Malaysia. Although bookings for the Proton X90 have been opened, Proton has yet to announce the official launch date of the Proton X90.
