Mitsubishi Triton, Xpander now cost up to RM3.3k more, Phantom Plus dropped



Three months into the new year, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has revised its prices for both the Mitsubishi Triton and Xpander. The Triton is now up to RM3,300 more expensive (for the Athlete variant) while the Xpander is RM3,180 more expensive for the sole variant.

The Mitsubishi Triton sees a price increase across the range, even for the 4×2 low-riding Triton Quest. Previously costing RM81,390 the Triton Quest is now RM2,500 more expensive at RM83,890. The Triton Quest is powered by a 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine that makes 110 hp (metric) and 200 Nm. It is only available with a manual transmission.

Up a tier, the 4×4 Triton 2.4 VGT Standard sees a price increase of RM2,300 to RM105,500 for the manual version. The automatic Triton Standard sees an RM2,000 price increase to RM109,990. The standard 4×4 Triton and variants above it are powered by a 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine that makes 181 hp (metric) and 430 Nm.

Moving on, the Triton 2.4 VGT Premium sees an RM2,500 price hike to RM118,700 for the manual version. As for the automatic Triton Premium, it sees an RM3,000 price jump to RM129,900.

The Triton Phantom Plus Edition is no longer available with new revised prices released

In its range-topping form, the Triton Athlete is now RM3,300 more expensive at RM149,900. As for the Triton Phantom Plus that was launched last year, it is no longer available. The Triton Athlete used to slot in between the Triton Premium and the Triton Athlete in the variant hierarchy. It was equipped with an exclusive body kit, roof-mounted lights, and a unique set of wheels.

Joining the Triton, the 7-seater Mitsubishi Xpander MPV is also given a price hike, now RM3,180 more expensive. Previously costing RM96,800, the family MPV now fetches a price of RM99,980. The Xpander is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine that produces 105 hp (metric) and 141 Nm. Paired with the engine is a 4-speed automatic transmission.
