Audi Malaysia has launched the 2023 RS3 Sedan starting from RM646,990. With the Audi Assurance Package which includes a five-year warranty and roadside assistance, the RS3 Sedan will be priced at RM655,990.
The second-generation RS3 Sedan is powered by a 2.5-litreTFSI turbocharged five-cylinder petrol engine with 400 hp and 500 Nm. Power is fed to all four corners with a seven-speed dual-clutch S tronic gearbox and a quattro all-wheel drive system.
The 0-100 km/h time of the RS3 Sedan is 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h. For a little comparison, the M3 does 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds with 480 hp and 550 Nm from a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine. The Mercedes-AMG A45S 4MATIC+ does the same in 3.9 seconds with 421 hp and 500 Nm from a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The RS3 Sedan features an RS Torque Splitter for torque vectoring between the two rear wheels. This allows for controlled drifts as all of the car’s power can be funnelled to just one of the rear wheels. The RS Torque Rear drive mode is essentially a ‘drift mode’. Other drive modes include RS Individual and RS Performance.
RS-specific items include the RS sport suspension with adaptive dampers, RS front and rear bumpers, ceramic disc brakes, 19-inch diamond-turned RS 10-spoke Y-style alloy wheels in Platinum Gray and an RS exhaust with a fully variable flap control system.
The headlamps are Matrix LED units while sequential indicators are available in the front and back. Colour options for the RS3 Sedan include Kyalami Green, Kemora Grey, Glacier White, Mythos Black, Daytona Gray and Phython Yellow.
Inside, you get items like RS door sills, RS carpets, RS seats with honeycomb stitching, Audi virtual cockpit plus with RS displays, RS flat-bottomed steering wheel, RS carbon Atlas trims on the door and dashboard and a shift indicator. The RS sport seats are wrapped in fine Nappa leather with honeycomb stitching.
The cabin is also furnished with a Bang & Olufsen sound system, 10.1 inch infotainment display and for the first time in an RS3 Sedan, a head-up display. The rear seats can be fully collapsed or split-folded, as an extension of the 321-litre boot. In terms of safety and driver aids, the RS3 Sedan is fitted with six airbags, with only lane departure warning, according to Audi Malaysia’s website.
