Zeekr, the purely electric subsidiary of Geely, has revealed the first images of the new Zeekr X electric vehicle with a starting price of an estimated 200,000 yuan (RM126,560) and is set to go on sale by this year. The Zeekr X is the third EV model by Geely’s electric vehicle subsidiary after the Zeekr 001 and 009.
The Zeekr X is built on Geely’s Scalable Electric Architecture (SEA) and measurs 4,450 mm in length, 1,836 mm in width and 1,572 mm in height while the wheelbase measures 2,750 mm. The latter is similar to the wheelbase of the Malaysia-bound smart #1.
So far only the dimensions of the car were revealed although if you look closely, the Zeekr X seems to be fitted with rather large brake calipers (either 4- or 6-pot calipers). That should come in handy as the Chinese media reported that the Zeekr X will be able to break the three-second mark from 0-100 km/h.
Powertrain options are similar to the #1; either rear-wheel drive (single motor) or all-wheel drive (dual-motor). The #1 with a single electric motor produces 272 hp and 343 Nm while the dual-motor model is expected to produce in excess of 400 hp! Power comes from a 66 kWh lithium-ion battery that can return up to 535 km of electric range.
