11th-gen Honda Civic captures 81% market share in Malaysia – nearly 7,000 units sold since launch



At the launch of the new 2022 Honda Civic e:HEV RS today, Honda Malaysia Managing Director and CEO, Hironobu Yoshimura announced today that the 11th-generation model has sold nearly 7,000 units since its launch in January this year.

The volume places the 2022 Honda Civic at the top of the leaderboard in terms of sales within the C-sedan market segment, and translates to roughly an 81% market share as of September 2022.

With the launch of the new hybrid variant, the numbers are expected to rise further, as the company announced that it has already received over 100 bookings for the 2022 Honda Civic e:HEV RS.

The model line-up now consists of four variants – E, V, RS, and e:HEV RS, with prices ranging from RM126k to RM167k. The 11th-generation Honda Civic is offered with two powertrain options here in Malaysia, the former three are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four powertrain paired to a CVT gearbox, delivering 182 hp and 240 Nm to the front wheels, while the latter gets a new 2.0-litre e:HEV hybrid powertrain, boasting 184 hp and 315 Nm.
