Video: 2022 Aston Martin DBX 707 4.0L V8 twin-turbo, from RM1.1mil

Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur has just launched the Aston Martin DBX707 in Malaysia earlier this month. Providing more power and more luxury than the ‘regular’ DBX, the DBX 707’s pricing starts at RM 1,098,000. The ‘Launch Edition’ that we have here fetches a price of RM 1.5 million.

Aptly named the DBX 707, the souped-up Aston Martin makes 707 hp and 900 Nm, which is significantly more than the 550 hp and 700 Nm from the standard DBX. Powering the DBX707 is an AMG-sourced 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Sitting in between the engine and gearbox is a multi-plate ’wet clutch’ pack instead of a torque converter in the standard model.

On the outside, it is obvious that the DBX 707 is a more brutal version of the DBX. The front bumper has bigger openings, and the grille features a “double vane” design.

The rear bumper is adorned with an extreme-looking diffuser and side aero winglets, and it is hard to miss the quad exhaust setup. Trailing from the V8 twin-turbo engine, the exhaust produces an aggressive sound mimicking that of a tiger’s growl. You’ll have to watch the video to hear it yourself.

The wheel arches are flanked by aggressive vents. Nestled within the wheel arches are 22-inch Aston Martin Sport wheels in gloss/diamond turned finish. Other wheel options include Aston Martin’s 22-inch Ribbon wheels and 23-inch forged wheels.

On the inside, the Aston Martin DBX 707 gets the Monotone “Accelerate Environment” as standard. Like the DBX, the DBX 707 comes with a 10.25-inch thin-film-transistor (TFT) head unit and a 12.3-inch TFT digital instrument cluster. Fully imported from the United Kingdom, the Aston Martin DBX 707 is hand built in the brand’s St Athan facility.
