Gallery: All-new 2022 Perodua Alza from RM62,500

Launched in July, the all-new 2022 Perodua Alza is available in three variants, namely the ‘X’, ‘H’, and ‘AV’. Prices range from RM 62,500 to RM 75,500, making the Alza one of the most affordable 7-seater MPVs you could get in Malaysia. Garnering more than 40,000 bookings since its launch, about 65% of them are for the range-topping ‘AV’ variant.

All variants are fully equipped with Perodua’s Active Safety Assist (A.S.A.) package which comprises Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, Pedal Misoperation Control, and Front Departure Alert. A Perodua-first feature is the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), but only the 2022 Perodua Alza AV is equipped with it.

To haul seven people around, a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine powers the 2022 Perodua Alza. It provides 106 hp @6,000 rpm and 138 Nm @4,200 rpm. The 2NR-VE engine is paired with Perodua’s D-CVT and all power is sent to the front wheels.

For an additional RM2,500, customers can opt for Perodua’s Gear Up accessories. The kit makes the family MPV a tad bit more elegant on the outside and slightly more interesting on the inside. But even without the kit, the all-new Alza is decent looking for the segment it belongs in. All Alza variants get LED headlights with follow-me-home and “Leaving Home Functions”.

Inside, a Perodua-first feature is the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity on the seven-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. Like the EPB, this only offered in the 2022 Perodua Alza AV. Perodua has recently obtained the necessary licensing for Apple connectivity and Alza AV customers can get their head units updated during their next service at Perodua Service Centres.

Another Perodua-first feature on the Alza is the 360° view camera for ease of maneuverability in tight spaces. Unfortunately, this is also only available on the AV variant.

Safety-wise, the all-new Alza provides ‘Driving Assist’ features such as Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) on all variants. Exclusive to the Alza AV are Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keep Control (LKC), and Blind Spot Monitor (BSM).
