After touring Peninsular Malaysia, the 2022 Ford Ranger is now packing its bags and loading up its truck bed to head to Sabah and Sarawak. Still fresh from the launch of the next-generation Ranger, Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) will be showcasing Ford’s brand-new truck in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.
These will be the last two venues for the Ford Ranger’s nationwide tour ahead of its showroom launch. In total, the Ranger tours five regions in Malaysia over the course of five weekends for the public to get a first-hand look.
In East Malaysia, the Ford Ranger will first visit Vivacity Megamall, Kuching from September 7 to 11. It will then traverse Northeast to be at Suria Sabah Shopping Centre, Kota Kinabalu from October 5 to 9.
Those who have received their exclusive event invitation will have a seat at the respective unveiling ceremonies happening from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. They will also be taken through an in-depth presentation on the next-generation Ranger. Registrations are open 30 minutes prior to the unveiling ceremony.

Offered in seven variants (including the upcoming Raptor), prices for the 2022 Ford Ranger start from the following for the base ‘XL’ variant with a 6-speed manual transmission:

- RM114,888.00 (Sarawak, Individual Private)
- RM114,888.10 (Sabah, Individual Private)

Currently topping the Ranger’s range is the Ford Ranger Wildtrak with a 10-speed automatic transmission which is offered at the following prices:
- RM 168,888.00 (Peninsular Malaysia, Individual Private)
- RM174,388.00 (Sarawak, Individual Private)
- RM174,388.00 (Sabah, Individual Private)
Depending on the variant, the 2022 Ford Ranger is either offered with either a 2.0-litre single turbo diesel engine (170 hp/405 Nm) or a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine (210 hp/500 Nm).
