The highly-awaited all-new 2022 Ford Ranger has now finally made its debut here in Malaysia, with six variants currently on offer at launch, priced from RM108,888 to RM168,888.
The all-new Ford Ranger is characterised by its completely redesigned front fascia, featuring a much more bolder appearance thanks to the massive hexagonal grille, a H-shaped bumper trim, and the signature “C-clamp” headlamp design inspired by the F-150.
At the top of the pecking order is the new Ranger WildTrak, which gets all the extra goodies, including matrix projector LED headlamps, 18-inch wheels, intricately-designed LED taillights, as well as the unique integrated side step s behind the rear wheels to make it more convenient for owners to access their truck beds.
Inside, it’s also the WildTrak that’s equipped with all the creature comforts, including the larger 12-inch vertical central display (all other variants get a 10.1-inch unit). Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard across all variants, however, as is the 8-inch digital instrument cluster.
As for performance, two powertrain options are available on offer – both 2.0-litre inline-four diesel mills, in a single- or bi-turbo configuration. The lower variants get the former, with 170 hp and 405 Nm of torque mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox, while the two higher-end variants are equipped with the bi-turbo engine, offering 210 hp and 500 Nm paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
