Topless all-electric Polestar 6 to debut in 2026 – 884 hp, 900 Nm

Polestar has announced that it plans to launch an electric roadster, named the Polestar 6, in 2026. Starting from August 16, 2022, interested customers may already reserve a build slot online for the hard-top convertible EV.

A preview of the hardtop convertible can somewhat be seen through the Polestar O₂ Concept that was unveiled in March 2022. The O₂ concept was built on another concept car called the Polestar Precept, which basically previewed the Polestar 5. The decision to bring the hardtop convertible to production follows the overwhelming response toward the O₂ Concept.

Polestar CEO, Thomas Ingenlath said, “With the overwhelming consumer and press response, we took the decision to put this stunning roadster into production and I am so excited to make it a reality. Polestar 6 is a perfect combination of powerful electric performance and the thrill of fresh air with the top down.”

Polestar has revealed that the Polestar 6 will feature the high-performance 800V battery that has also been confirmed for the Polestar 5. As for the powertrain, the Polestar 6 will get a dual-motor setup that churns out 884 hp and 900 Nm. Polestar targets a 3.2-second 0-100 km/h time for its upcoming convertible.

The upcoming electric roadster will headline the brand’s attendance at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, as well as ‘The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering’ events during Monterey Car Week in California, happening on the 18-21 August 2022.
