Video: 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+ now in Malaysia, from RM699k

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is continuing its electric assault with the introduction of three new fully-electric models last week, headlined by its new flagship EV, the Mercedes-Benz EQS. Arriving at our shores in the sole EQS 450+ variant at launch, the fully-electric limousine will retail starting at a price of RM698,888 on-the-road, without insurance.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+ is powered by a single electric motor on the rear axle, offering up to 333 hp and 565 Nm. Which translates to a 0-100 km/h time of 6.2 seconds, and a rated top speed of 210 km/h.

Performance isn’t necessarily the EQS’ main highlight, however. With the signature “one-bow”, the flagship sedan boasts a drag coefficient of just 0.22 Cd, making it the most aerodynamic production car to date. Sipping electrons from a 107.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, the EQS 450+ is able to drive a whopping 782 km in just a single charge.

Charging takes approximately 10 hours with the on-board 11 kW AC charger, but if you’re in a rush, a 200 kW DC fast charger takes the car from 20-80% in just 31 minutes.

As for standard equipment, the Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+ in Malaysia comes equipped with Digital Lights matrix LED headlights, AMG Line exterior package, a set of 21-inch alloy wheels, as well as Airmatic suspension with adaptive dampers on all four corners.

Inside, the Hyperscreen full-width digital dashboard comes as standard on the EQS 450+, alongside two 11.6-inch displays for rear seat entertainment, a 15-speaker 750-watt Burmester sound system, a fancy Active Ambient Lighting system, as well as a panoramic sunroof on top.
