The Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio ‘Estrema’ special edition is more than just a styling upgrade

Alfa Romeo just dropped a new special edition model for the Giulia and Stelvio called ‘Estrema’, and they’re billed as the first “global special series” for the models. This new special edition is based on the Veloce trim that was offered quite a while back, but what sets this apart is its driving dynamics – essentially filling in the gap between the Veloce and Quadrifoglio.

The new Giulia and Stelvio Estrema come with several mechanical upgrades as standard, including a new adaptive suspension with Alfa Synaptic Driving Control (SDC) and a limited-slip differential.

Alfa Romeo claims that these upgrades will improve the car’s stability and grip levels in the corners, while still not compromising on ride comfort.

Adding to the already menacing look of the Giulia and Stelvio, the new special edition models are fitted with carbon fibre side mirror covers and‘V’ front grille, along with darkened-out Estrema badging and wheels (19-inches on the Giulia and 20-inches on the Stelvio).

The cars will be offered in four choices of exterior colours: Alfa White, Alfa Rosso, Misano Blue, and Vulcano Black, all of which will be paired with gloss black trim applied on the side window trim and B-pillars.

The mood of the interior matches the exterior, with carbon accents and Alcantara sprinkled across the cabin, similar to the Quadrifoglio. The leather upholstery on the seats, dashboard, steering wheel, and gear knob also get additional red stitching to complement the sporty look and feel of the car.

Both the Giulia and Stelvio Estrema are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 280 hp and 400 Nm, while the Stelvio comes with an additional choice of a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel mill with 210 hp.

These special editions are now available for order, and will be available worldwide during the third quarter of 2022. The Giulia Estrema starts from USD55,090 (approx. RM241k) while the Stelvio starts from USD58,950 (approx. RM258k).

Unfortunately, “worldwide” doesn’t exactly apply for us, as official Alfa Romeo dealerships in Malaysia no longer exist. So if you want one, you’ll have to deal with the costly and complicated import procedures yourselves, or be contented just admiring them on the internet.
