Michelin unveils new Primacy SUV+ tyres with improved wet and dry braking performance

Michelin has launched the new Primacy SUV+ tyres with a new range of improvements to better accommodate the growing SUV market and consumer’s needs.

“It is estimated that from 2021 to 2026, the SUV market in the East Asian region will continue to grow 5.9% year on year and achieve a 33% growth in 2026,” said Michelin Malaysia’s Managing Director, Oliver Biggart.

Among the new features include:

  • Michelin Premium Touch sidewall design with a velvet-like texture that enhances the aesthetic appeal of the SUV
  • Higher silica loading and functionalised polymer that offers improved wet and dry braking performance without compromising mileage or rolling resistance
  • MaxTouch Construction optimising the contact patch for more even wear and longer tread life
  • StabiliGrip sipesoffer better wet and dry braking performance due to improved water evacuation

The new tyres now also feature more tread depth and more sipes with a U-shaped groove design for improved safety in wet driving conditions. Its chamfered tread block also prevents the tread block from distorting under heavy load.

The Michelin Primacy SUV+ is now available in Malaysia at all Michelin’s authorized tyre dealers in 26 sizes, including 7 new dimensions, across the 16 to 20-inch range.
