Proton dealers now required to have 3-months holding stock

In light of recent news on parts shortages, Proton has announced that all dealers are now required to have three months holding stock for 22 different fast-moving parts.

“We are aware of the issue on aftersales and parts availability as our customers have reached out to us. It is deeply regrettable and I would like to reassure our customers that we take every complaint seriously and senior management has identified several bottlenecks and operational issues that require fixing,” said Proton Edar, CEO, Roslan Abdullah.

Aside from the new mandatory requirement for dealers to have three months holding stock, the same will apply to the central parts centre; in the hopes of reducing waiting time for customers.

“We are also strengthening the capability and knowledge of our dealers to provide better aftersales service to all Proton customers. There is still a lot to do but we will give updates on our progress throughout the year,” Roslan added.

On that note, Proton also announced that it has opened its 147th 3S/4S centre in Alor Setar today – the 10th outlet for EON. The new showroom is also the 5th Proton Platinum Showroom in Malaysia.
