Two new BMW i Charging stations unveiled at Gamuda Gardens, open to public

BMW Group Malaysia, together with its dealer-partner Millennium Welt today unveiled two new BMW i Charging stations at the Gamuda Gardens residential township in Rawang.

The new AC chargers are located strategically in front of the Gamuda Gardens Experience Gallery to benefit not just the residences, but also the public around the area, as the charger will be open to the public.

The new BMW i Charging stations are equipped with a BMW Wallbox each, providing up to 11 kW of power. Just for some context, that should fully charge the BMW iX xDrive40 in about seven hours.

BMW Group Malaysia Managing Director, Hans de Visser said, “When we look to expand the availability of charging infrastructures across Malaysia, we also look to power beyond public malls and landmarks to equip townships and residential areas as well – where there is also high demand for access to charging facilities amongst electric vehicle users.”

This shift towards electrification also inspired our partnerships with like-minded industry players who, like us, make environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles central to their business operations and plans.

“The introduction of these new BMW i Charging facilities in Gamuda Gardens underlines our commitment, in tandem with BMW Group Malaysia, to provide electric vehicle owners across the country an ownership experience that is hallmark of the BMW i.”

Meanwhile, Gamuda Land Product Management Unit Executive Director, Jess Teng said, “We have mindfully thought through the masterplan of Gamuda Gardens township, which includes climate-responsive design towards a green future. The installation of BMW i Charging facilities which encourages greener modes of transport underscores Gamuda Land’s approach to ESG under the Gamuda Green Plan 2025.”

With the two new additions at Gamuda Gardens, BMW Group Malaysia now has 79 i Charging facilities across Malaysia. The charging network is further complemented by the 16 charging points with Shell Recharge & Park Easy, as well as 319 charging facilities with GreenTech Malaysia and its ChargEV platform.
