Following the official launch of the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class in December last year, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has now officially confirmed the pricing information for the sole S 580 e PHEV variant here on our shores.
The luxury limousine will be locally-assembled here in the Pekan assembly plant, and priced at RM 698,744 (on the road, without insurance, and inclusive of the 100% SST exemption until the 30th of June 2022), making it approximately roughly RM50,000 dearer than the outgoing model.
As a recap, the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class is currently only offered here in Malaysia as the standard wheelbase version (W223), and in the sole S 580 e plug-in hybrid variant. Underneath the bonnet is a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine paired to a electric motor for a total system output of 510 hp and 750 Nm of torque.
Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox for a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 5.2 seconds, onward to a top speed of 250 km/h. On pure electric mode, the all-new S 580 e can travel for 100 km without a single drop of fuel, at speeds of up to 140 km/h.
Launched globally in 2020, the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been completely redesigned both inside and out. On the exterior, the all-new S-Class borrows many of its styling elements from its other Mercedes-Benz stable mates for a more unified look across the entire family. For example, the horizontal-oriented taillights look similar in style to that of the CLS, launched back in 2017.
On the inside, meanwhile, the all-new S-Class will be leading the charge for Mercedes-Benz’s latest interior styling philosophy, including the new portrait-oriented centre display that has now also made its way onto the all-new C-Class – which is also scheduled to be launched here in Malaysia very soon.
In terms of standard features, the all-new Mercedes-Benz S 580 e PHEV in Malaysia comes equipped with Digital Lights headlights, 19-inch multi-twin-spoke alloy wheels, Airmatic air suspension with adaptive dampers, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with automatic stereographic 3D effect, electrically-adjustable rear seats with heating and cooling, calf massage functions, and the MBUX rear-seats entertainment system.
As for safety, the all-new Mercedes-Benz S 580 e in Malaysia comes with the Driving Assistance advanced driver assist suite, which includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and Parktronic active parking assist. It’s also the first car in the world to include forward-facing airbags for rear passengers.

The all-new Mercedes-Benz S 580 e PHEV in Malaysia is backed by a four-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, while the PHEV battery pack gets a separate six-year/100,000 km warranty.
