1 of 1 Rolls-Royce Phantom “Orchid” created for Singapore took 2 years to complete

Orchids are among the most coveted ornament plants and for the first time, it’s being paired with a Rolls-Royce, specifically a Phantom.

The ‘1 of 1’ Rolls-Royce Phantom “Orchid” is the result of two years of work by the designers, craftsmen, and artisans at the Bespoke Collective division of Rolls-Royce.

Inspired by the Singapore orchid among others, the art piece was first hand-designed by award-winning artist Helen Amy Murray and subsequently hand sculptured onto silk crepe satin fabric. The process took 200 hours to complete.

A unique paint, Arctic White, was specially-created and chosen as the base colour of the ‘art piece’, while a tint of violet was added; inspired by orchids. Finished with a layer of fine glass particles, the result is a stunning pearlescent appearance.

The orchid theme can be seen mainly on the dashboard, or ‘The Gallery’ as Rolls-Royce calls it, a space that enables customers to exhibit art, sculptures, or objects. Orchids are also ‘planted’ on the door sills, rear ‘picnic table’ and even featured on the Phantom’s coachline.

Grace White, Havana and Smoke Grey with Dark Olive stitching were chosen to express a calm and serene environment similar to an orchid sanctuary.
