Mercedes-Benz Malaysia brings festive joy to Rumah K.I.D.S

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recently celebrated an early Christmas with over 30 children from Rumah K.I.D.S in the 11th installation of the company’s annual social initiative known as “Christmas in a Shoebox”. The occasion was held at Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Club.

In collaboration with Nicol David Organisation (NDO), the event began with Mercedes-Benz Malaysia employees chauffeuring the children to the Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Club. Upon arrival, they were treated to exciting and interactive sports activities to nurture talent development, build team spirit, and cultivate positive values through sports.

“At Mercedes-Benz, we are committed to nurturing and empowering these little ones and hope to support them as much as possible to build a better tomorrow. Throughout our 11 years of this Christmas in a Shoebox initiative, our employees have come together to give back to the community in a meaningful way and we’re glad to be able to organise this with Datuk Nicol David through her new organisation,” said President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, Ms. Sagree Sardien.

After the activities, the kids were treated to a sumptuous lunch and special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, played by VP of Sales and Marketing, Michael Jopp and Ms. Sagree. The gifts given out were purchased by Mercedes-Benz employees based on the children’s Christmas wish list.

Come next year, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia along with NDO aims to empower boys and girls from B40 and M40 families with three core values of positivity, confidence, and respect through sports and education. The children will be taught valuable life skills around self-awareness, healthy habits, while boosting their English proficiency.

“This is the new beginning for NDO and myself to give back to the local community and to share the knowledge that I gained from my squash career. I realised that I had other experiences from squash that I can tap onto and do new things to create an impact for the future generation,” said Founder of Nicol David Organisation, Datuk Nicol David.
