Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the all-new S-Class in Malaysia where it will be available here in a single variant – the S580e plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
Unfortunately, its price tag was not available at the time of launch but when asked, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia expects it to cost more than the previous S560e, which retailed for around RM650k.
Key features on the exterior include 19-inch wheels, air suspension, soft close doors, and Mercedes-Benz’s new Digital Light. The new lighting system uses 1.3 million micro-mirrors to reflect and direct more than 2.6 million individual light beams onto the road. In some countries, it can even project icons onto the road surface.
Inside, it’s a buffet of new tech and offerings. You get a completely new dashboard design, new air-con vents, “hands-free” sunroof controls, calf massager, wireless headset, blindspot indicators by the door panel, illuminated seat belt buckles and a whole lot more!
Performance comes from a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine, paired to an electric motor. Together, they produce 510 hp and 750 Nm. The powertrain also includes a 9-speed automatic transmission.
