In case you’re wondering JMC stands for Jiangling Motors Corporation. While you may not have heard of them, JMC has been supplying the local commercial scene for a while now. The Vigus Pro is their first foray into the pick-up truck segment.
The Vigus Pro will be sold under Angka – Tan Motor, a subsidiary of Warisan Tan Chong Holding Berhad. The first batch of Vigus Pro are fully imported from China with the subsequent ones locally assembled in Rawang. In an interview with Angka-Tan Motors during the virtual launch, the company said deliveries are expected within 10 days of purchase.
Underneath the hood is a Ford engine paired to an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox with manual mode. A BorgWarner electronically-controlled 4WD system helps distribute power to all four wheels.

The Vigus Pro comes with a ground clearance of 225 mm. With a dependable ladder frame chassis and leaf spring setup at the rear, cargo payload is rated at 850 kg.
The windows can be lowered or closed through the car’s remote. The remote can also be used to fold the side mirrors. There are four colours available – Black, White, Silver and Brown.

Having seen the car in person before the launch at a private viewing, the Vigus Pro felt modern on the inside with an all-black interior and silver surrounds around the air-con vents and centre console. Rear leg room is also surprisingly spacious.
