Car dealerships & car wash now open to those not fully vaccinated – 3 per car

Following the news that Klang Valley and Malacca has moved to Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan, here are some updates for those who are not fully vaccinated.

As of today, the 1st of October 2021, those who are not fully vaccinated are allowed to visit showrooms, car washes, and morning markets. Dine-in privileges are still strictly for those who are fully vaccinated.

As for the number of occupants allowed per car (for those who are not fully vaccinated), the limit has now been extended to three occupants. States which are still in Phase 2 of the NRP, the limit remains the same at two per car.

As for taxis and e-hailing services, the number of passengers allowed in a vehicle has changed to three although all three passengers are required to be in the backseat; even though it makes absolutely no sense at all.

States which are still in Phase 2 of the NRP includes Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Perak, Sabah and Johor, while states in Phase 3 are Perlis, Pahang, Terengganu, Malacca, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya. The last three are considered to be one area.

For those who have been fully vaccinated, the number of passengers allowed per car is based on the seating capacity of the car.

Expired road tax and driving licence renewal deadline extended to December 31st. Read about it here!
