Suzuki Malaysia teases the launch of Jimny via lone image

Naza Eastern Motors (NEM), the sole distributor of new-generation Suzuki vehicles in Malaysia, has posted their intention to launch the Jimny real soon!

In a simple post of the shadow drawing of the Suzuki Jimny on Instagram, the distributor included a caption “The one and only….returns.” sending signals that the capable lifestyle SUV is finally making its official availability in Malaysia!

A month after the launch of the Suzuki Swift Sport, local media portal BHarian reported that NEM has already started taking bookings (close to 20 bookings) of the Jimny even though no pricing or firm delivery timing of the vehicle.

The Suzuki Jimny is offered in a compact 3-door body with a simple Suzuki K15B 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol four-cylinder engine powering the SUV. Outputs are modest with just 100 hp and 130 Nm of torque. Globally, there is a choice of either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

Power is sent to the Allgrip Pro 4×4 system that features a physical shift lever to slot from 2WD to 4WD High and 4WD Low transfer gear range.

For true off-road capabilities, the Suzuki Jimny continues to be built on a rigid ladder frame chassis and suspended by 3-link rigid axle suspension with coil springs on both axles. The steering gear mechanism is even the old recirculating ball unit rather than a modern rack-and-pinion system.

The Suzuki Jimny can bring fresh barista coffee to almost anywhere thanks to its compact dimensions yet spacious interior. More about Jimny Beans here!
