Suzuki UK turned a Jimny into a fully-loaded mobile coffee shop!

Due to strict emissions restrictions in the EU, the Suzuki Jimny can only be sold as a light commercial vehicle (LCV) over in the UK, which means no rear seats, and some minor interior tweaks. But despite that, Suzuki still believes that the tiny Jimny is a car with unlimited possibilities, and they’ll do everything they can to convince you – including turning it into a sick mobile coffee bar!

The Jimny Beans, as it’s called, started life off as a regular Chiffon Ivory Pearl Jimny LCV with a Bluish Black roof. However, in order to fit a full-blown two group head espresso machine at the back, several heavy modifications had to be made.

The most important of all, is of course the custom-made aluminium work top where the espresso machine sits. The work area also integrates a compact 12V Waeco drawer fridge underneath, which cools the all-important milk down to -2 degrees Celsius!

On the inside, the Jimny’s only passenger seat in the front was removed to make space for a 57-litre water tank, alongside the necessary 3M water filtration system. Ever seen a job listing asking for a valid driving licence? Well, it’s pretty much a requirement for the barista of the Jimny Beans.

The Suzuki Jimny will finally be making its Malaysian debut soon! Read more about it here.

At events, where Suzuki UK plans to actually utilise the Jimny Beans, the entire coffee-making getup can either be run off of mains electricity thanks to a built-in power inverter and two large capacity 12V batteries, or through a gas generator – the latter requiring a LPG tank under the rear floor section replete with a custom exhaust pipe.

Closer to home, a food truck operator from Alor Setar turned a classic Volvo 240GL into a mobile cold-brew coffee shop! Check it out here.

As a bit of a coffee nerd myself, I can’t help but feel giddy whenever I see a unique coffee set-up like this. And having it built inside a Suzuki Jimny? That’s just another reason to love the Jimny even more – something I never thought would be possible.

The Jimny Beans will make its public debut for complimentary refreshments at the Southampton International Boat Show from 10-20 September, at which Suzuki Marine will be displaying their products from its UK Range.
