In paying tribute to the track where the Lexus F was conceived, Lexus presents the RC F Fuji Speedway Edition. Only 50 units of the limited edition coupe will available.
Named after the ‘Temple of Speed’ situated at the foothills of Mount Fuji, Lexus said the limited edition model embodies decades of development on the iconic Japanese track.
For starters, the RC F will only be available in the Electric Surge blue – a first for Lexus – with a semi-matte finish. The exhausts have been upgraded to titanium units while carbon exterior panels not only improve aerodynamics but also reduce weight. In the quest to shed even more weight, Lexus also used hollowed driveshafts and a lighter air-conditioning compressor.
Behind those 19-inch wheels – wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres – are Brembo Carbon Ceramic brakes; 6-pot in the front, 4-pot at the rear.
With all that excess fat taken away, coupled with 472 hp and 536 Nm of torque from a 5.0-litre V8, the RC F Fuji Speedway Edition gallops to 100 km/h from standstill in just 3.9 seconds. That’s 0.3 seconds faster than the standard RC F. It also boasts the best power-to-weight ratio in its class and is the most powerful V8-powered Lexus to date. The V8 is mated to an 8-speed automatic, with rev-matching and launch control.
The blue theme continues inside with black and blue Alcantara seats along with blue carbon fibre trims. The steering wheel and gear knob are also wrapped in Alcantara. For aural pleasure, the RCF comes with an 18-speaker Mark Levinson sound system.
The RC F can be optionally specified with the RC C Carbon Package that consists of a carbon fibre roof, front and rear splitters, and a retractable rear wing.
