When pictures like these start being shared around in Malaysia, you know a launch is coming and in the case of the Land Rover Defender, it’s only a matter of time after these heavily camouflaged pair was seen in Subang Jaya earlier today.
According to information uploaded on Land Rover Malaysia’s website recently, there will be five different variants – standard, S, SE, HSE, X – powered by two different powertrains.
Both body styles – two and four doors – are available according to the website although the images we’re shown were of 4-door units.
The P300 models get a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, with 300 hp and 400 Nm while the P400 MHEV gets a more powerful 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine, assisted by a mild hybrid system, to produce a whopping 400 hp and 550 Nm.
The range-topping X variants are only available with the P400 MHEV. Both engines are paired to an 8-speed automatic, with all-wheel drive capabilities.
