More detailed images of the facelift 2021 Proton Iriz leaked on Facebook

With all that time on your hands to spend on social media of late, you would’ve probably seen images of the facelift 2021 Proton Iriz that has leaked on the line the past couple days. Well, more have surfaced!

At first glance, it may look the Proton Iriz version of the Perodua Axia Style, but there’s more to it. Gone is old V-shaped grille, replaced by the Infinite Weave designed first made famous by the Proton X70.

The lower bumper has seen rather drastic changes too. While the LED fog light strip remains the same, the housing for the fog light has been completely redesigned. The rear bumper is also significantly more eye-catching, highlighted by silver surrounds.

Further back, a roof rail has been added, along with wheel arch extensions (err herm Axia Style…literally). What we do find particularly attractive though, is the new wheel design. It’s possibly the most elaborate wheel design we’ve seen from Proton.

The changes are less significant at the rear. You get an “Active” badge on the tailgate but the rear bumper design is essentially the same as the previous facelift model back in 2019. It only looks different as the panels are of different colours.

Look closely and you’d notice the vague diffuser seen in the previous facelift model, is no more.

Inside, all the main consoles and air-con vents are finished with red surrounds. It’s got “Active” lettering on the door panels and on the seats – a little hyperactive, don’t you think?

Our favourite Martini-themed seats have been sacrificed for this new theme either – dislike.

More details will be revealed tomorrow (August 5th) as Proton will be revealing the facelift Iriz and Persona at 11:00 am on their Facebook page.
