Bentley will help you design a yacht to match your car if you pay them enough money

You know the horrible feeling of when you roll up to the marina, only to have your yacht not match your favourite car? Yeah, totally relatable. Well, if you’re rich enough to have this problem in the first place, you’re also probably rich enough to solve it, thanks to Bentley’s own Design Services department.

As a special project by request of one of its customers, Bentley’s customisation arm worked together with Contest Yachts to create a bespoke 18-metre (59-foot) Contest 59 CS yacht, based on the customer’s very own Continental GT.

The most obvious parallel, at least when seen from the outside, is the yacht’s paint job, which gets a coat of deep blue hue that matches the car’s Light Sapphire colour. But anyone can paint a yacht; the most impressive part of this custom build is actually on the inside.

Bentley has essentially recreated the interior of the owner’s Continental GT V8 coupe within the yacht itself, including colour choices – red and linen beige leather – and even material choices, i.e. wood. So much wood.

And just because this is a Bentley project, the leather in the yacht’s cabin also features the carmaker’s signature diamond-in-diamond stitching, which requires exactly 712 stitches per diamond and a high level of skill to produce, only possible on a special stitching machine exclusive to Bentley.

“This project was an opportunity for Bentley Design Services to showcase some of their many skills in a truly unique collaboration. Bentley cars embrace qualities of craftsmanship and styling that are only achieved at the highest level of nautical design,” said Bentley Motors Head of Bentley Design Collaborations, Brett Boydell.

Contest Yachts CEO and Co-Owner Arjen Conijn added: “We are well-known for our thorough approach to customisation, which allows us to fulfill the expectations and preferences of every customer. This project is the ultimate example of this approach – working with Bentley to turn a customer’s dream into reality.”

As this is a special one-off bespoke project, Bentley did not disclose how much a customisation job like this will cost. But I’m sure with enough money, you can also have Bentley make another bespoke yacht for you, or anything you like for the matter.
