Japan to launch all-new Honda Civic hatchback soon!

Honda will be launching the all-new Civic in its home market soon! However, based on the silhouette, it seems that the Japanese market will be launching the all-new Honda Civic Hatchback and not the recently launched Civic sedan.

The new Civic hatchback seems to feature a steeply raked rear windscreen and ends with a sharp vertical drop to the taillamps. The C-pillar not only retains the upward kink but forms as a styling element for the tailgate.

Could this hatchback be the basis of the all-new Honda Civic Type R? Both Japan and North America are said to be concurrently premiering the new Civic Hatchback on 24th June GMT.

In the North American market, the all-new 11th-generation Honda Civic is offered in two engine choices- naturally aspirated 2.0-litre or an improved turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with outputs of 180 hp and 240 Nm.

Key features in the all-new Honda Civic sedan include a 10.2-inch driver’s instrument cluster, a 9-inch central infotainment touchscreen display, concealed air-conditioning vents, blind-spot monitoring replacing LaneWatch single-camera, better occupant comfort and a heavily revised suspension setting.

In the ASEAN region, the all-new Honda Civic sedan will make its debut soon with the Singapore market first. The current Honda Civic hatchback is not offered in Malaysia, but is popular in Indonesia and Thailand, where the new Honda City hatchback has replaced the Jazz model.
