Video: The BMW M850i xDrive is a dual-personality grand tourer!

Ever since it was launched in March of 2019 for a cool RM1 million, the M850i xDrive has been at the very top of our test drive list for more reasons than one.

Not only does it replace the now retired 6 Series as BMW’s “big bad coupe”, but it also bears the burden of living up to the 8 Series legacy left behind by the E31 model series, produced for nearly 10 years beginning from the early 1990s.

Suffice to say, it did exactly that and then some!

With over 500 hp and 750 Nm of torque in M850i, you’re never going to run out of power; not even the slightest opportunity to feel inferior but that’s not the biggest appeal of BMW’s flagship coupe.

It’s the fact that the M850i can be so docile, serene and comfortable when you’re just cruising along, whether on the highway or in mid-day traffic but with the slightest flex of your right toe, it instantly turns from a comfortable living room into a cockpit of a jet fighter.

And for a car the size of a living room, the M850i simply danced through corners with the agility and gracefulness of a ballerina; with the aid of rear-wheel steering.

It’s simply the best grand tourer BMW has produced yet but we won’t spoil it for you entirely. Watch the video above and find out!
