Following the availability of the BMW M3 and M4 Competition, BMW Malaysia is now formally introducing the all new 4 Series here on our shores. Only one variant – the 430i M Sport – is available for pre-booking now, with prices starting at RM418,800.
The all-new BMW 4 Series needs no introduction in terms of looks – you already know about its most defining feature, the humongous buckteeth-like kidney grille up front, finished in matte aluminium on the mesh pattern, while the surrounding frame gets a coat of high-gloss chrome.
Specifications wise, the Malaysia-spec BMW 430i is dressed in the M Sport exterior pack, which includes a more aggressive front bumper with larger side vertical struts air intake (similar to that of the M340i), along with an M Sport rear bumper with more black glossy plastic bits and a rear diffuser, surrounding the split hexagonal-shaped exhaust exits.
The BMW 430i Coupe is also equipped with the M Aerodynamics package, which includes a small ducktail wing extension. Other exterior highlights include the 19-inch double-spoke style 797 M Bicolour M light alloy wheels on all four corners, Shadow Line blacked-out window surrounds, and LED headlights and fog lights as standard.
The M Sport package extends to the interior as well, with the inclusion of the M leather steering wheel, M-specific pedals, and powered sports seats for the front passengers, the latter upholstered in a cloth/sensatec synthetic leather combination.
As standard, the BMW 430i M Sport in Malaysia is equipped with the BMW Live Cockpit Professional displays, featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster paired to a 10.25-inch infotainment display. Other interior equipment include a HiFi Loudspeaker sound system, tri-zone automatic air-conditioning, a wireless charging pad for your mobile phones, and a powered tailgate.
As for safety, the Malaysian-specification BMW 430i M Sport comes with the BMW Driving Assistant package, which includes features such as Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning, autonomous emergency braking, rear-cross traffic alert with rear collision prevention, adaptive cruise control, as well as the Parking Assistant feature with Reversing Assist.
Underneath the bonnet of the all-new BMW 430i is a 2.0-litre TwinPower turbocharged four-cylinder engine, pushing 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. The four-pot mill is paired to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission to complete the century sprint in 5.8 seconds, onward to a top speed of 250 km/h.
The 430i M Sport in Malaysia also comes as standard with M Sport suspensions, M Sport brakes (with blue calipers), as well as Variable Sport Steering.
As mentioned above, the BMW 430i M Sport in Malaysia is priced at RM418,800 on the road, without insurance, and inclusive of a five-year extended warranty & service package (RM13,120).
Just like the M4, BMW Malaysia is also offering an optional Innovation Package for the 430i, which adds on BMW Laserlights with high-beam assistant, Leather Vernasca upholstery, the BMW Connected Package Professional system, as well as a Harman Kardon surround sound system.
