Video: Mercedes-Benz GLB 200, GLB 250 4MATIC, 5 Things

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched the first-ever, seven-seater GLB with three different variants available – the GLB 200 Progressive Line, the GLB 250 4MATIC AMG Line and the bonkers GLB 35 AMG. Alongside the GLB, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also introduced the G 350 d.

The GLB 200 is powered by the same 1.3-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, like in the current A 200, paired to a 7-speed DCT gearbox to drive the front wheels. Power is rated at 163 hp and 250 Nm.

On the other hand, the sportier GLB 250 4MATIC is driven by a more powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder, paired to an 8-speed DCT to drive all four wheels. Unlike the GLB 200, this one gets a more respectable 224 hp and 350 Nm.

The most significant feature of the Mercedes-Benz GLB is the addition of the third-row seats, a first for the brand in the compact SUV segment. Mercedes-Benz says that the rear most seats can accommodate adults up to 168 cm in height, and up to four child seats. What’s more, the third row even comes with USB-C charger and cupholders.

The Mercedes-Benz GLB 200 is priced at RM269,118.15, while the GLB 250 4Matic brings it up to RM318,009.26. Both prices are on the road, without insurance, and inclusive of the sales tax exemptions in place until the end of 2020. Included in the price is a four-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.

With the Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia’s Possi-B-ilities Financing plan, The all-new GLB can be yours starting at RM2,688 per month, based on estimates of a five-year tenure and approximately 19% downpayment for the GLB 200.
